Parents choose to enlist the services of a private tutor for many reasons. Perhaps your child lacks confidence, or you feel they are capable of more. You may be looking to help them become more independent in their learning.
Whatever your reason, one-to-one in-person English and maths tutoring from ACE Tuition Harpenden provides personalised weekly sessions to support your child in reaching their full potential.
ASSESS
Once you have decided that one-to-one tuition with ACE Tuition Harpenden is the right fit for your family, we will discuss the areas your child would most benefit from developing. This may be overall confidence and competence, or something more specific such as tackling complex word problems in maths. I will review recent schoolwork and reports, and together we will agree on a clear plan to support your child.
TEACH
Each session is guided by your child’s individual needs and typically combines pre-teaching with consolidation. Alongside developing subject knowledge and skills, there is a strong focus on building an ambitious attitude, a sense of responsibility, and the confidence and resilience needed to take risks in learning. Pupils are supported to become increasingly independent in their studies.
REVIEW
Your child’s progress is continually monitored so that future sessions can be planned and adapted accordingly. At the end of each half term, I’ll provide feedback on progress, celebrate successes and discuss next steps where helpful.
If additional home learning would be beneficial, this will be planned carefully to ensure it is both purposeful and manageable.
Sessions are booked in half-term blocks; written confirmation will be required before the end of each half term stating that you wish to continue the following half term.
Sessions take place weekly during term time*, either in your home or in my dedicated home classroom in Harpenden.
The cost for a one-hour, one-to-one session is £55. This includes all resources, such as workbooks and flashcards, as well as planning, preparation and review time, and additional parent contact time.
*Additional sessions available during school holidays subject to availability
Not all children love learning; however, with the support of an enthusiastic teacher who consistently champions them, they can begin to appreciate the rewards of hard work, perseverance and, in time, achieving their goals.
